Who is BiJae? What is BiJae? Why is this site here? I'm sure you have questions. I have some of the answers. BiJae was my dog for thirteen and a half years. He was more than my dog, he was my companion, friend, confidant. In short, BiJae was my soul mate that walked on four legs. He had the best personality of any dog I've seen... not to say there's not other's out there just observing what we shared. What we shared was quite simply put amazing. Some people don't believe in animal communication, however I can tell you BiJae and I were so connected we had conversations. BiJae knew me better than I know myself, and loved me in spite of myself!
So who am I? My name is Brian Donahoo. I was born in Northern California, Hayward to be exact, that was back in 1972. I'm a bit of a maverick, a roamer, a wanderer, and my history accurately reflects that. The most stable time in my life was growing up. I spent those years in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the small town of Twain Harte. Twain Harte is located at about 3,700 ft elevation. We lived closer to Sugar Pine but most don't even know where Twain Harte is. For those that are interested, it's about 90 minutes north of Yosemite and about 180 minutes south of Lake Tahoe. Still can't find it on the map? We're about 150 miles due east of San Francisco, and south east of Sacramento, just east of Modesto. Here's a MapQuest map!
As you can see there's not much around there. Growing up one of the things I would do was play in the forest. We had miles and miles of forest across the cul-de-sac from where I grew up. As young adult I resented where I lived, it was too remote, too far from my friends.. too isolated.. As an adult, I envy those who can live there and survive. I long to return to my mountains where fishing, hiking, biking and visiting ruled the day. City life is fun, but nature’s where it’s at!
After leaving home for the first time at 18, I spent a few months in Southern Oregon. I made a go at making a life up there. I made some life long friends, but rent was harder to make. So I returned to Sonora, living close enough to home to get groceries while attending college. After that I moved to San Diego. I spent five years in San Diego learning all about computers and the corporate life. I was young and eager to conquer the world. I found computer work easy to do. Yet that only satisfied part of my desires. I missed the trees!
In 2000 I set out to look for a new place to live. San Diego had become too big for me and wasn’t offering me the spiritual side of life. I had intended on moving to Portland or Seattle. While I was on vacation in Puerto Villarta, Mexico I met a couple from Dallas, Texas. They were moving to Austin and suggested I take a look at it as a possible place to live. “It’s the Silicon Hills, second to San Jose in the computer industry.” Like a cowboy in the 1800’s I was moved to follow the trail to the gold in them thar hills! “Austin or Bust”
July 3, 2000 I landed in Texas. I found it to be not too far a stretch from life in Tuolumne County. It was HOT, there were rolling hills and the people were friendly! The couple I had met in Puerto Villarta allowed me to live there while I was looking a job. As luck (or Creator) would have it, I interviewed and landed a job the day I moved to Texas. I took two the next two weeks off and have been working the same job ever since. To get a better look at what I do for a living you can read my Resume.
Today I enjoy many of the conforts of being back home with the amenities that come with city life. I live in a small town outside of Austin, Texas. There are waterways every where for me to go kayaking, trails for me to go hiking or biking. I have chances to go to more Rodeo's. I also have the opportunity to volunteer for The Texas State Aquarium. I have made some great friends along the way. Being of a wandering spirit, I can't say this will be my final resting place, but it sure has been a natural progression in my life!
That’s the very abridged version of my life. There will be more on this site both past, present and future in the days to come. In 2000 I did a little page for my site that was cute and got some attention. It’s an interview of me done by BiJae. Click here to view it! If you have any questions, I’m just a message away, use the Contact link to the left and drop me a line! I’d be happy to hear from you! Peace Brian
